Reflective Essays

My Favorite Writing Assignment

One writing assignment that I could say I truly enjoyed writing was an essay based on a current topic but I was allowed to take a stance. Our teacher gave us an essay where we had to search for a current events topic that called out to us and I chose the dangers that social media had on the brain. I felt like I really thrived in this assignment because i was able to put my own personal touch to it. Given the freedom to state my opinions really allowed me to gain interest in the assignment as well as being able to choose a topic that i felt was interesting and important to talk about. Since I had the freedom to model the essay any way I wanted, it really helped me put it together in a way that really allowed me to showcase my findings and evidence but at the same time show the audiences how much I was into this topic. The freedom of expression is a big part in writing so allowing the student to freely write gave me even more courage to do great on this assignment. Some other assignments that I felt were kinda difficult were essays that passed the 7 page mark. This makes the paper feel more like a novel, it was simply too long. I felt like I was running out of things to say at one point and I ended up dragging on the topic which resulted in a bad essay. Another writing assignment that I didn’t favor was when the topic was chosen by the teacher and it’s something that the whole class didn’t know anything about nor were we interested. It made me unmotivated to even keep writing at certain points because of how much I hated the topic that was chosen for us.

My Experience With Video Conferencing

Overall it was a good experience, I had some trouble in the beginning with setting up the speaker but eventually I figured it out. Also the recording aspect I couldn’t figure out since it didn’t offer an option on the device i was using. But I think this was a good and helpful way  of communicating . In the end it helped our group decide what we wanted to focus on and the certain points we wanted to elaborate on.
